LL Cool J 1998 Coca Cola Commercial

Clip From LL Cool J 1998 Coca Cola Commercial

Do you remember LL Cool J's 1998 Coca Cola Commercial? I loved it. It was a father and daughter commercial. I think it should have been made into a comedy series for television. I do believe it would have made a big hit too. The commercial was so cute. LL Cool J was really trying to braid his daughter's hair. I laughed until my sides began to hurt. This was a great commercial based on real life. LL Cool J was doing all he could for his daughter and spending time with her. He couldn't braid hair quite right, but he was being a father to his daughter.

3D TVs

What turns people off from buying 3D TVs?

CNET Asia - Erica Ogg
And therein lies the main problem with 3D TVs. The prices of the sets will eventually fall--in fact it's already happening, more on that in a moment--but we're still not that close to not wearing 3D glasses while watching a 3D television at home. ...

Teleblog: The problem that I have with buying a 3D TV is I am just not interested. It's too new and it hasn't been around that long. It seems as if it is an experiment. As soon as you buy one, it will be made better in the long run with more added on. Technology is something that keeps you spending money and you will forever buy this thing or that thing. There is no end. I'm satisfied with what I have.

Digital TV Almost Cable TV

It's been more than a year watching digital TV for me. My antenna has picked up 2 music channels that are sometimes not available. Digital TV is almost like cable. I watch the This Channel, ION, Qubo and CW. The Qubo channel is great to watch late at night because it shows all of the old cartoons like She-Ra and He-Man. Digital TV has given a variety that regular television did not have before. In the future, I hope that digital TV will be full of more educational channels similar to the History channel. I hope that at least a hundred channels will be pulled in to stay by antenna. Digital TV will probably be competition to cable unless everything becomes one for all in the future.

Tom and Jerry Were the Good Old Days

Clip from Tom and Jerry

Channel

When I sit down to watch cartoons with my little step brother, he watches new cartoons of today like Spongebob and cartoons I do not even know the names of. When I showed him cartoons like Mickey Mouse and Tom & Jerry, he became hooked on them. He had forgotten about cartoons like Spongebob. To me, cartoons like Spongebob doesn't make any sense. Even Looney Toons made more sense than Spongebob. Spongebob is the real looney.

Once I read that cartoons like Tom and Jerry and Looney Toons were too violent for children to watch. Tom and Jerry and Looney Toons were the good old days.  I turned out fine watching the old cartoons growing up and all of my classmates. All of the children that turned out to be violent were violent anyway because they were half raised young'ins. I must admit that children can copy what they see on television, but when your parents are always disciplining you, you know what to copy and what not to copy as a child.

My favorite cartoon of Tom and Jerry was Jerry's cousin. It taught me that I shouldn't be afraid when another child bullied me at school. It was teaching me how to fight back like my mother did or else I was going to be bullied to death. After I started fighting back, I wasn't bullied much anymore. Tom and Jerry taught good lessons about how to fight or outsmart an enemy. I saw it through the eyes of a child. There was good in those old cartoons. Yes, there was violence in Tom and Jerry, but it helped a weak one that needed to fight.

Martial Law

Do you remember the Chinese cop from the television series, Martial Law? He was Sammo Law (Sammo Hung). Sammo was amazing in fighting. In season one, there was Kelly Hu as Grace and Tom Wright as Winship. Those are the main two characters that I remember seeing. In season two, I remember Arsenio Hall as Terrell, and Gretchen Egolf as Amy. Kelly Hu was in both seasons.

Martial Law was a series from the year of  1998 to 2000. Sammo was a Chinese cop that came to Los Angeles in search of a colleague and remains in the U.S. Sammo's martial arts got my attention to the show. The show reminded me of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker of the Rush Hour movie. I wish that Martial Law could come back to television with new episodes.

Hawthorne Series

Google Image

Hawthorne is a television series starring Jada Pinkett Smith. It is an hour long medical series on TNT. It is being renewed for a third season and is going to premier in June 2011. That tells me that the show is doing great. However, there have been some negative reviews, but I thought the show was good from what I could see.

Jada Pinkett is Christina Hawthorne. Jada has the leading role. She is a chief nursing officer. Jada plays a more mature role than most of the roles she has played in the past. She does a great job in Hawthorne. Jada also plays as a mother with a teenage daughter. She has children in real life. That's what makes a great actress. If a person is able to act on some real life experience, they got it going on. With loved ones passing away, seeing doctors that don't care, seeing doctors that make mistakes, seeing doctors that do care, and seeing family that don't care could really help Jada make Hawthorne an even greater television series. In hospitals, you find mean nurses on the fifth floor, and the most sick people on another floor. There is all kinds of stories out there in real life for Hawthorne. I hope that there will be a fourth season. Good luck Hawthorne on the third season.
